Frequently Asked Questions
Our bench plaques are made from solid cast bronze, with aluminum available as a lighter or more cost-effective option if needed. Bronze offers the most traditional look and long-term durability, developing a natural patina over time while maintaining clarity.
Yes. Customization options include your choice of font style (classic, modern, serif, sans-serif), optional borders or decorative edges, background colors such as oxidized brown or custom-painted colors, and layouts tailored to fit your inscription, donor names, or memorial dedication.
Most bench plaques range from 3" × 6" to 4" × 10", but we can accommodate custom sizes based on your bench dimensions and desired layout. We’ll recommend sizing based on your text, space, and installation method.
Typical mounting options include hidden blind studs (drilled into the bench surface) or surface-mounted screws through the face, with optional decorative rosettes. If you have custom stud locations required by an existing bench or surface, simply send us an image or your specifications — we can adjust to meet your needs.

The amount of text depends on the plaque size, font style, and layout. As a general guideline, you can fit about 2 lines of text for every 1.5" of plaque height. ¼" tall letters (all uppercase) and ⅜" tall letters (upper and lower case) are the smallest sizes that can be produced for cast or tooled bronze plaques while maintaining legibility.
If your plaque requires more text than can fit cleanly using cast or tooled bronze methods, we may recommend switching to an etched metal plaque. Etched plaques allow for much finer details and smaller text, because the lettering is chemically recessed into a solid metal surface rather than raised. Capital letters as small as ⅛" tall are possible with etching while still maintaining clarity. Etched plaques are a good solution when a longer inscription or additional wording is needed for your memorial or dedication.
