Frequently Asked Questions
Cut brass letters are used for professional signage in law offices, lobbies, universities, and public buildings. Their warm golden tone offers a traditional yet elegant look, ideal for both historic and refined modern spaces.
Cut brass letters are precision-cut from solid brass plate using a waterjet process. The surface is then finished with a brushed, polished, or oxidized finish, depending on your selected style.
We offer brushed satin, polished, and oxidized brass finishes. A clear protective coating can be applied for indoor or covered outdoor use. Brass is not recommended for full exterior exposure, as it may tarnish or stain nearby surfaces.
Standard acrylic letter sizes range from 2″ to 24″ tall. Thickness is typically ¼″, ⅜″, ½″, or 1″, with custom options available. We’ll recommend the best thickness based on your letter size and installation surface.
Mounting options include stud mount (most common), stud with spacer (for dimensional effect), or double-sided tape for small indoor letters. Each order includes mounting hardware, a full-size installation pattern, and nationwide installation if needed.

Cut brass can be used outdoors in protected areas, but it is more prone to tarnishing or spotting than other metals. For full outdoor exposure, we recommend bronze or stainless steel instead.
Yes. Uncoated brass will gradually darken and may develop a patina when exposed to moisture and air. This aging process adds a natural, historic look, though it can be slowed with a clear coat.
